Conservation Lands

Your home at Los Establos will be surrounded by the groves of trees, flowing water, and rolling grasslands of your own private nature preserve.

Your lot and those of your neighbors include natural habitat that will be preserved forever in the High Point Prairie Conservation Easement. Your views of prairie wildflowers and majestic oaks, the sounds of gurgling streams and rustling leaves, and the fresh scent of clean country air will never be compromised by uncontrolled development.

A network of walking and equestrian trails connects your home to all the wonders of your prairie home's natural setting. You can also go cross-country for bird watching or nature study, pick a handful of wildflowers, dangle a fishing hook in one of the creeks, or just enjoy the great outdoors, free of the crowds that visit public parks.

Water features include creeks and small lakes adjacent to nearly every lot in the Los Establos community. Lakes will be stocked and managed for recreational fishing (mostly catch and release, with scheduled periods for retained catches to maintain balanced fish quality and population) and for wildlife, providing habitat for wading birds and aquatic animals.

Conservation lands are enjoyed communally by Los Establos residents and their invited guests. An added bonus: the portion of your lot included in the conservation easement is taxed at agricultural (rather than residential) rates.
